Long overdue update

A regular visitor to the blog has requested that I get my act together and provide an update. In the past month and a half, during which time I have been conspicuously silent, the following events have taken place:
  • Over the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend, we moved house (see post below). Well, to be accurate, we moved our belongings from a storage warehouse somewhere in Dorval to our new home in Westmount. Approximately a month later I can report that we are unpacked all but for six boxes; however, the office is in chaos as my desk did not survive the voyage across the ocean completely intact. (The carpenter tells me not to worry.)
  • I finished a four-month contract at OZ Communications just yesterday, during which time I had a ball and made many great friends.
  • Tuesday I start another technical writing stint, this time at McGill University.
  • Kassie had her entire class over for a Halloween party (and the house survived).
  • We had our first set of visitors just this past weekend, from Buffalo, NY. Sadly, it rained the entire weekend, no kidding!
  • I turned 40.

Belated Happy Birthday, Jeanne, and welcome to the world of forty somethings. You do know that it's all down hill from here on, don't you? :-)

But how do you account for the fact that at forty I'm having double the fun I had at twenty (and with none of the angst)!?

Just wait until you get to 46, Jeanne!

Nah... just kidding. Forty is definitely a turning point - it's as though a whole bunch of things suddenly click into place don't you think?

I agree wholeheartedly!
